Adoption Casework and Service Planning
All
families in the Post Adoption Program are assigned a caseworker.
Caseworkers are responsible for verifying eligibility and developing
a service plan based on the adopted childs history, the childs
current functioning, and the needs of all the family members as
they relate to the adopted childs presence in the home. The
caseworker reviews this service
plan with the adopted family and updates it at least once every
six months.
Casework
services are available 24 hours a day. Casework services include
the following:
|
Education regarding adoption issues
|
|
Counseling
with families about services
|
|
Referring
clients to appropriate community resources
|
|
Participating
in meetings with other agencies working with a child or family
