Josephine's Day Spa and Salon School Supply Drive - Unitl the End of August
Come into either Josephine's Eldridge or Pearland locations this month and help us "Stuff the Bus" with school supplies for our children! All of the donations will be delivered straight to Spaulding for Children.

HOW CAN I HELP
Spaulding for Children charges no fees to adoptive families; we must raise funds in order to fulfill our mission. If you are interested in helping in any of the ways listed below, please contact Vikki Finley, President and CEO, at 713.681.6991.
- Make a donation to Spaulding for Children. Use the online donation form.
- Name Spaulding for Children in your will - Planned Giving.
- Join the Favorite Aunts and Uncles Club. This is a major donor club for annual individual donors who give $1000 to $5000 in one fiscal year.
- Join Cousins' Club. This is a donor club for annual individual donors who give $250 to $999 annually.
- Raise money for Spaulding for Children.
- Increase awareness of Spaulding for Children and the special needs children within your community
- Invite a Spaulding for Children representative to make a presentation at your next meeting at church, a civic association, a professional group, etc.
- Become a Foster or Adoptive Parent
- Name Spaulding for Children as the beneficiary of your company's special event
Calling all Volunteers
Marketing and public relations professionals are encouraged to call the Development Department for more information about meetings and for specific projects from the agency's communications wish list.
Detail-oriented volunteers are invited to spend a few hours each week at Spaulding for Children helping process mailings, file and maintain mailing lists. A variety of clerical and office duties are available and is where the most assistance is needed. This may include filing, data input, addressing and/or stuffing envelopes, and answering the phone.
Event volunteers are invited to join one or more of Spaulding for Children's event planning committees to plan fundraisers and family recruitment functions.
Parents who have adopted through Spaulding for Children are invited to help with site visits by potential funders. Adult adoptees are also invited to volunteer for this important job.
Board of Directors - If you are ready to make an annual leadership gift, share your contacts, play an active role in the fiscal oversight of Spaulding for Children, attend board meetings, serve on a committee and support special events, the Board of Director's nominating committee would love to hear from you.

Make a Donation To make a tax-deductible donation, you may give online or print and mail a completed copy of our donation form along with your check or money order to Spaulding for Children, 8582 Katy Freeway, Suite 100, Houston, Texas 77024.
Create a Blizzard of Giving! Each December, Spaulding for Children initiates a "Blizzard of Giving" to provide holiday gifts for the children who have been placed in foster and adoptive homes. Checks and gift cards are requested. Funds and gift cards not distributed during the holidays are used for birthdays, adoption-day gifts, and for families in financial crisis. Do you shop at Randalls or Kroger? Remember to use your Randall's Remarkable Card or sign up for the Kroger "Neighbor to Neighbor" donation program to help trigger a donation to Spaulding for Children.
Randalls Good Neighbor Program If you want to participate in the Randall's Remarkable program link your Randall's Remarkable Card to Spaulding for Children's number (1470), Randall's will send a percentage of your purchases to Spaulding for Children. Please fill out the Randalls Good Neighbor Form and take it with you on your next visit.
Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Program To participate, please print out the Spaulding for Children Customer Letter and take it with you on your next visit to Kroger. At checkout, have your cashier scan the barcode on the paper as well as your Kroger Plus Card. Once your Kroger Card has been scanned with the organization barcode, it will be active for the remainder of the program year of July 1, 2010 – April 30, 2011 and your purchases will help earn money for Spaulding for Children! If you are currently participating you will still needa current copy of the 2010-2011 Spaulding for Children Customer Letter and re-enroll with your Kroger Card.

Gifts of Stock Going Cheap! One of the most effective ways to support a charity is to donate appreciated stock. Spaulding for Children receives 100 percent of the gift and the donor receives a tax deduction based on the value of the gift date. The gift only costs you what you originally paid for the stock and you avoid paying any capital gains tax! Everybody wins and you help children in need! If you would like to make a gift to Spaulding for Children, contact the Development Department at 713.681.6991, ext. 128.
Annual Community Appeal Through its Board of Directors, Spaulding for Children has gradually diversified its' funding sources and increased community awareness of the agency. Fundraising activities include an annual board campaign, direct mail appeals and special events. Spaulding for Children receives funding from individuals, corporations, foundations, religious institutions, social groups, and professional associations, plus the United Way of Greater Houston.
