Spaulding for Children Identity- Color
Spaulding for Children's signature color is purple, PMS 2685. When used in an electronic medium, such as the internet or interactive CD, PMS 2685 can be interpreted as the hexadecimal color 663399 or the RGB values 102, 51 ,153.

Spaulding for Children Identity - Signature
Spaulding for Children's signature is a key element of the company's identity. Its' appearance, proportion, and typeface are never to be altered. The font used in the logotype is Times New Roman but the logotype is never to be retypeset, just as the monogram is never to be redrawn.

Our signature is to be reproduced only in PMS 2685, black on white, or reversed white over a photograph or color. Although the signature can be used white over other colors, it is ideal to print white over PMS 2685. When printed over a photograph or color, the photo or color must offer enough contrast that the signature is clearly recognizable. The Spaulding for Children heart monogram is not to be used without the logotype unless the logotype is near and then only if the monogram is a secondary graphic.

Dear Spaulding for Children Website Visitor,
More than 30 years ago, a small group of volunteers started Spaulding for Children with a basic concept €" that no child is unadoptable. In those 30 years, we have proven that our founders were right  as we have placed more than 1,500 foster children into permanent, loving homes since our founding. During your visit to our website, you will be able to discover some of the many success stories of our families and learn more about the children who still wait for the permanence and stability they can only receive from a loving, nurturing, adoptive or lifelong foster family. We are proud that more than 1,500 children's lives have been changed through our services, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff, our Board of Directors, our volunteers, and, most importantly, our families.

Many of our successes are due, in part, to our strong commitment to collaboration. We believe that the best way to achieve permanency for our communities' waiting children is to leverage our skills and competencies with others in the community to achieve even greater results. Following is a partial list of our collaborations:

  • Adoptation -  Spaulding for Children was a founding partner of this four-year public/private collaboration formed among the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and six private agencies to facilitate the placement of more children in permanent adoptive homes.
  • Casey/Spaulding Collaboration -  A unique collaboration with Casey Family Programs to develop an integrated continuum of permanency options for children, regardless of their legal status.
  • Children's Permanency Collaborative -  This collaborative joins together public and private agencies, Harris County District Courts, the Dispute Resolution Center of Harris County and others to demonstrate how mediation can help expedite the legal process for abused and neglected children.

To Prevent Drowning, Resign Yourself to " Hovering" Over Kids

The best thing about swimming in one of Texas' lovely lakes, swimming holes or rivers: It's deep down relaxing like few other experiences in life. Unfortunately, this mellow, it's-all-good feeling also can be the worst thing about swimming if it causes us to take our eyes off children who are in or near water.

As the end of the school year approaches, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services'  See and Save campaign reminds us that the period from now to Labor Day is prime time for accidents and fatalities related to swimming, skiing, boating and other water sports. Ninety Texas children drowned last year, in addition to two so far in 2012.

The agency's safety experts say the point of See and Save is not to deny kids one of the season's  most enjoyable experiences. Instead, it's to remind parents and other adult caretakers that children should never be left unsupervised for any length of time around water because drowning can happen in a matt
