Mission & Vision
Spaulding for Children's mission is to provide children in need of a loving home with the joy of having one.
A not-for-profit organization with a 35-year history, Spaulding for Children is dedicated to building and sustaining strong, nurturing families for children who have endured abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Our vision is to be the premier provider of adoption, foster care and related services in Texas. Because of Spaulding for Children, there could be a loving family for every child who needs one. The agency is recognized for its' innovative programs and leadership in collaborative initiatives.

Children - We are dedicated to improving the lives of children who have suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonmnet by providing stable, nurturing family relationships in which they can grow and heal. We believe that every child is born with the right to a loving home and family. We believe that our smallest citizens are our most valued assets and that every child is important.
Family - We believe that every child deserves safe, caring lifelong relationships to ensure their own healthy development. Our society is structured on the fabric of the family unit. To keep that fabric strong, the smallest thread cannot unravel. We believe that we can improve the lives of children who have suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonment by building and sustaining families through foster care, adoption, and post adoption support services.
Inclusiveness - Reflecting the diversity of our community, the children we serve come from a multitude of backgrounds. We are committed to keeping the hearts, minds, and resources of our organization open to all. By working together and appreciating one another's similarities as wess as the differences, we will serve the needs of our youngest citizens most effectively.
Collaboration - Multiple organizations, working in tandem, are necessary to resolve the issues facing our community's children. We are committed to partnering resources and effortss with others to achieve the common goal of ensuring stable, nurturing family relationships for all children.
Innovation - We are committed to using proven traditional avenues as well as exploring, creating, and implementing new solutions to support our mission and to serve children and their all-important futures.
Spaulding for Children offers:
- Adoption Services for no fee
- Experience placing more than 1,600 children with permanent "forever" families
- Specialization in placing older children, sibling groups, minority children and children with physical, mental or emotional disabilities
- More than 10 years of experience and innovation with Foster Care services such as the Foster-to-Adopt program
- More than 17 years of post adoption experience servicing families until the youngest adopted child reaches 18 years of age
- Programs in English and Spanish.
