Spaulding
for Children honored Sue Finley at the “Champions for Adoption”
Celebration, Friday, May 2. Over the years, Sue has provided unparalleled
support to the
mission of Spaulding for Children and is a true champion for children
in need.
Sue founded CMS/Creative Marketing Services, Inc., an advertising
and public relations firm, in 1983. She has a bachelor’s degree
from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree
in English from the University of Houston, where she currently serves
on the corporate advisory board for the Department of English.
In addition to being a former Spaulding for Children board member,
a current member of the advisory board and a founder of the agency’s
Favorite Aunts and Uncles donor club, Sue has chaired the Resource
Development Committee, the Annual Campaign and two special events.
If we have an event, you can bet Sue will be there, sharing her
time and resources and getting to know the children and families
she so dearly loves and supports.
“When Spaulding for Children thinks of a favorite aunt, we
think of Sue,” said president and CEO Todd Landry.
“She not only supports every initiative whole-heartedly, Sue
has been a real pioneer for our agency. Sue created ways to raise
money, thank donors and celebrate our families.”
Sure she’s a business leader and a community role model, but
Sue definitely has a wild side. In fact, there are few places she
loves more than the African wilderness. A remarkably intrepid traveler,
Sue’s many safari adventures have included everything from
intimate encounters with her much-beloved giraffes to witnessing
charging bull elephants and the horrific Nairobi embassy bombing
in 1998. But always, she maintains her grace, her cool and her ability
to inspire and reassure those around her.
Thank you, Sue, for honoring Spaulding for Children with your zest
for life and love for children. You truly are a Champion for Adoption.
