Cindy

Cindy is an affectionate child. She has delicate features and takes pride in her appearance. She enjoys being well-dressed and wears make-up appropriately. Cindy is aware of her feelings and tends to be over-sensitive and subject to mood swings. Academically, she makes average grades and enjoys school. While Cindy is in special education for her emotional needs, she wants to be mainstreamed. She has an average IQ and hopes to go to college. Cindy takes her medication to help with depression, anxiety, and anger. She is a happy child with a desire to be adopted and become part of a family.

The family for Cindy will need to be experienced, patient, and compassionate about her background. They will also need to understand her issues of low self-esteem, depression, and mood swings. Cindy has two sisters who were previously adopted and she misses them greatly. A family for Cindy would need to understand her connection to her sisters. Jasmine

Jasmine was born premature at birth and is currently receiving occupational, speech and physical therapy to address her needs. She just had a developmental evaluation in March 2002 that diagnosed her with Pervasive Development Disorder (mentally retarded with delayed speech). Jasmine is a very easy-going toddler who is very alert and continues to make positive gains in the right directions. When it comes to feeding, Jasmine has to be tube-fed through a G-button. This experience is not always easy for Jasmine to accept, but she is doing much better. Jasmine just recently started to walk and is able to say a few words.

Jasmine needs a family that will be very understanding of her developmental needs and play an active part in her overall growth and development.

Ashante'l

Ashante'l is a sweet little girl that loves one-on-one attention. She has a smile that will melt your heart. She loves to interact with her foster siblings and is able to form bonds with people. She loves to watch cartoons and play with her toys. She is unable to walk on her own, but loves to be in her walker. She loves to explore things and has a great disposition.

Ashante'l is a small/petite child for her age. She was born premature and was very small - and has gained weight only slowly. She requires a G-button. Due to her early birth, she has developmental delays and her lungs were underdeveloped, which require the care of a pulmonologist doctor for her medical needs. She is receiving developmental therapy every two weeks with ECI. They are workind on growth, fine motor skills, feeding herself, and lifting. She is doing very well. Ashante'l is a delightful child who is making steady progress and the doctors have been impressed with her remarkable progress since her birth. With the right assistance, she will hopefully be able to function normally one day.
